Great photography starts with good communication and the ability to make anyone relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera. Technique and the right camera equipment are important, but without a spark, a bit of a giggle and real enjoyment, the only photographs taken would be dull, flat and boring.

We achieve this through preparation and communication. For portrait photography we talk you through what clothing to wear to achieve different looks, what make-up looks best and even schedule your appointment to suit the best time of day for your baby and young ones (if you have them). By taking the time to talk through these seemingly insignificant factors you gain more confidence and build a level of trust so that by the time we meet, you already feel comfortable with us and so half the battle is already won. Good lighting, a little posing (only to make the women in the group look and feel their best) and a little stupidity by everyone involved are the final ingredients in creating fun, family portraiture.
These factors are probably even more important on your wedding day. To be invited to take a couple's wedding photography is an honour. We don't hide the fact that we love a good wedding, but more than that as photographers we love giving our newly married couples a service comparative to none. We meet twice before the wedding firstly for a no-pressure sales chat where our award winning photographer introduces herself and her work and then for a face to face pre-wedding talk where we tailor each Heartfelt wedding to suit YOUR style. With everything planned, contingencies put in place and a small pre-wedding photo shoot taken for your table top cards by the time we reach the wedding we are as good as friends. We know what to expect from eachother, likes and dislikes and can therefore capture your day the way you want to (with some creative imagery thrown in too). A good raporte between client and photographer takes time to build and at Heartfelt we think you're worth getting to know.
